The story of Wok’d
Hi, I’m Angela.
Dog Mom, Founder of Wok’d + a confidently bad speller. I don’t believe in the Oxford comma, I prefer a + over an & (and yes, it’s mostly to bother people.)
But I do believe in quality over quantity. And I believe there’s a solution to every problem—usually found somewhere between the chaos + the kitchen.
I’ve spent more than two decades in restaurants—but it really started when I was 18, stepping into my first restaurant job + realizing pretty quickly that this industry was something different.
There’s an energy to restaurants. The pace, the pressure, the way everything comes together in real time.
Over the years, I’ve done just about everything—serving, bartending, managing, opening restaurants, building training programs + working behind the scenes on systems that keep it all running. I’ve been part of 13 restaurant openings + every one of them taught me something new about what works—and what doesn’t.
Somewhere along the way, I started thinking: What would this look like if I built it myself? Wok’d is the answer to that.
It’s everything I’ve learned over the last 20+ years, brought together into one place. A restaurant built around bold Asian flavors, but done in a way that feels modern, approachable and actually inclusive. Because great food shouldn’t come with limitations.
That’s why nearly everything on our menu is gluten-free, with plenty of vegetarian + vegan options—built in from the start, not added later.
Wok’d is about balance.
Traditional flavors, reworked with intention.
Fresh ingredients. Sauces made from scratch.
The classics you love—just made better (no seed oils, no shortcuts).
A space that feels elevated, but never uncomfortable.
Food that’s exciting, but still something you can come back to again and again.
This isn’t just another restaurant.
It’s the result of everything I’ve learned—and everything I believe in.
